B4PEACE participates in the launch of RUniPACE

On December 10 the University Network for Peace will be presented at national level.

RUniPace is the Network of Italian Universities for Peace promoted by CRUI (Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities). To the network adhere the Universities that inspire their action to the fundamental principles of the Italian Constitution, the United Nations Charter, the Treaties establishing the European Union, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Council of Europe, in the knowledge that the repudiation of war as an instrument of offense to the freedom of other peoples and as a means for the resolution of international disputes, faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and value of the human person, the obligation to cooperate in order to maintain peace and prevent threats to peace, the fight against inequalities and poverty are founding values of the Italian constitutional order, the international order, the European Union and the various international cooperation agreements to which Italy is a party.

In the general principles of the Statute of the University of Parma, the aim of our common commitment is to "contribute to the development of society through the cultural and civil promotion of the person and the development of a culture based on the universal values of human rights, peace, international solidarity and environmental protection". The Rector Paolo Andrei has promoted the adhesion of our University among the first ones to the RUniPace network, appointing Professor Alessandro Pagliara as referent.

The Network of Italian Universities for Peace will be presented at CRUI with a national event moderated by Prof. Enza Pellecchia (University of Pisa) and concluded by the Minister of the University, Prof. Gaetano Manfredi, on December 10, 2020, at 10 am: this is the link for participation.

Afterwards, from 11 a.m., our University will present in Parma the RUniPace network with the morning of studies Prospettive di pace: tra mondo antico e contemporaneo (link) organized by professors Alessandro Pagliara and Emanuele Castelli, which will be opened by the greetings of Rector Andrei and prof. Aluisi Tosolini, Director of the Liceo Scientifico "Bertolucci", whose students will be our welcome guests in streaming.
