The project

B4PEACE is a Jean Monnet Module co-funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission (EACEA) for three years (2019-2022). The project is one of the 251 proposals that have been selected for funding by the European Commission (out of more out of 1,351 proposals submitted to the Agency).

The Jean Monnet Actions aim to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union Studies.

The module provides for the establishment of a course on "European Peace" within the  Programme of the Degree Course in Political Science and International Relations, managed by the Department of Law, Politics and International Studies of the University of Parma.

The project has three main objectives:   

  • promoting the study of peace in European Union Studies;
  • fostering a new multi-disciplinary approach to teaching;
  • expanding the debate from the University to Civil Society, through public engagement activities and within the framework of UNIPR “Third Mission”. 

The project features several Professors and Researchers from the University of Parma, as well as scholars from the Universities of Milan, Trento and Turin.

The funding was obtained thanks to the active support of the University of Parma's Internationalization Unit, and meets the strategic objectives of implementing the international activities of the University of Parma.
