First B4Peace Conference

Organized crime as a challenge to European peace

On Friday, May 7, 2021, at 2.30 pm, the first Conference of the Jean Monnet B4PEace project will be held, initially scheduled for 2020 and postponed due to the pandemic emergency.

Compared to what was originally indicated in the project, the organizers have decided to change the theme and bring to the attention of the students and the wider audience the issue of organized crime as a challenge to European peace and the implications of Covid-19 on this issue.

The initiative is organized with the Center for Studies in European and International Affairs of the University of Parma, with the Foundation of Parma Lawyers and co-promoted by the Permanent Observatory on Legality of the University of Parma, in the framework of the Program Agreement with the Emilia-Romagna Region. Patronage of "Il Borgo" Club.

The initiative features distinguished guests: Angela Me, Chief Research and Trend Analysis Branch of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC); Letizia Paoli, Professor of Criminology at the University of Leuven; Ernesto U. Savona, Professor at the Catholic University of Milan and Director of Transcrime; Igor Angelini, Senior Specialist at Europol.
